Bull City Classrooms

Last Saturday I had the incrediBULL opportunity to volunteer with Bull City Classrooms. It wasn’t hard. It only took 2 hours. There was no paperwork. Signing up took less than a minute. And there was free coffee. Winning.

This tiny but mighty volunteer organization is an unBULLievaBULL way to make a positive impact. They’re trying to reach 30 volunteers every Saturday. Let’s do this Bull City.

From the founder of Bull City Classrooms Anish Simhal:

Bull City Classrooms is a nonprofit organization with the goal to get the incrediBULL Durham community involved in local classrooms. Durham teachers are underpaid and overworked — our goal is to address the latter. We organize two-hour blitz volunteer sessions on Saturday mornings where groups of 20+ volunteers help teachers with whatever they need.

This includes activities such as cleaning/sorting out closets and science experiment kits, making folder packets, and moving desks.  Basically, labor-intensive tasks that would take a single teacher a few days, but only two hours for a large group of volunteers.
